To Senegal

The land south of Nouakchott, capital of Mauritania, is noticably greener than that north, despite the occasional red dune. The border formalities on the north side of the River Senegal are more or less madness if you have white skin. Manage to get my passport speed stamped:
Hustler: Did you not give the custom man something?
Me: No
Hustler: Why not?
Me: Because he did not ask for anything…
Saint Louis is probably somewhere most of us could live out our twilight years: although its hot and sticky now, it has culture (though often closed), a beach/ocean, good fish, polite people, and the minimum of hustlers.
First sept place (7 seater) shared taxi today, in moving onto the capital of Senegal, Dakar. Sept place are surprisingly spacious compared to other forms of ,transport I have already tried, and the traffic in Dakar is continuously awful.
